Darjeeling Govt College was established in 1948. Department of Mathematics was started later. The department caters to B.Sc. Hons. in Mathematics and continuously upgrading itself according to the changing curriculum and needs of the time from Annual system to CBCS semester system to FYUGP system. The goal of mathematics dept is to nurture young talents to focus on standards, assessment and outcomes.
FCurriculum of the course is approved by central board of studies, affiliating University and adopted by the college. The department is well equipped with 3 classrooms. Text books and reference books are available in departmental library. The combined effort of students and teachers is helping to grow the department.
